How to unblock Gmail in Office College and Schools

Many businesses organizations, government offices, schools and college block access to Google’s free Gmail service. There may be some ways to work around the restrictions and access gmail on the go in office and organisations. Here are some suggestions to unblock gmail in office and schools:
Gmail
Use https://mail.google.com instead of using http://mail.google.com. The use of https:// instead of http:// tells your browser to access Google mail on their secure server which uses high level of encryption. Encryption provides an extra layer of protection by hiding any data which is sent to and received from the Gmail web site. Alternatives are https://www.gmail.com, https://gmail.com, https://www.googlemail.com, https://googlemail.com and https://mail.google.com/mail/x/.

Secondly you can Configure your e-mail program in office or school to access Google’s mail servers directly and download your mail to your computer. This works with Outlook Express, various version of Outlook, Windows Mail, Apple Mail 3.0, Thunderbird and others desktop email clients.
Google has a special mobile version of Gmail. This works on your BlackBerry or iPhone, allowing you to avoid having to use your company’s network altogether or you can use mobile version in browser to check the mail, however you will not be able to use Google Buzz and Gtalk which are integrated to the gmail.
Download Google Desktop to your work machine. This can be used to bypass filters and access Gmail. However, some places block this, too as the Port for accesing gmail through Google destop is same as normal http:// port.
